People's Warden Annual Report - 2007

Alas, time flies when you're having fun. It also flies when you are running around trying to get things done. It has been a busy two years, and at times it feels like I've been doing this for more than two years, but that might just be my aging mind playing tricks on me. It started with a bang during the committee's search for a new priest to lead the congregation. We then added a new roof to accompany the new priest. Over the two years there were many good points as well as some low points. I tried to enjoy the good and learn from the other occasions that were more difficult. During this period we also said hello to new friends and goodbye to old friends.  It was a rewarding experience that I would consider doing again, of course somewhere much much further down the road.

I would sincerely like to thank the good people of St. Mike's for their friendship and support during my two year term as People's warden and it is now time for another kind soul to take up the torch. Given the direction that the Anglican Church of Canada appears to be going on a number of serious issues, the next people's warden will most probably be kept busy.  I wish him or her the best of luck for a smooth hassle-free term. I'm also sure that Don and Tony will support and work with the individual in the same way they supported me.

Your servant in Christ,

Brian O'Connor
